About Me

Hi, I’m Irene – a 50-year-old Gen X mom, lifelong New Yorker, traveler, and professional multitasker who’s in the middle of a comeback story. After years of living how I thought I was supposed to, raising a daughter (now a college freshman), and keeping life running on all cylinders, I’ve hit pause to restart, rebuild, and rediscover what’s next for me.

College Graduation

I’ve spent my career as an Executive Assistant. I’m a natural problem-solver, and planner who thrives on making things happen. Right now, I’m in an in-between season, and honestly it’s been freeing. I’m unemployed, re-evaluating my career, and intentionally restarting my life. This chapter isn’t about what I’ve lost; it’s about what I’m creating. I’m giving myself permission to grow, to pivot, and to imagine something new.

When I’m not job-hunting or journaling about this wild ride, I’m a traveler at heart. I’ve explored 45 U.S. states and 5 countries, and every trip reminds me how much I love the adventure of starting somewhere new. I’m also a former runner and triathlete – I completed five triathlons before a back injury in January 2015 changed my pace. Even though I had to slow down, that experience taught me resilience, endurance, and how to keep going when life forces you to pivot.

Being a New Yorker through and through, I’ve learned that reinvention is part of survival. You adapt, you adjust, and you keep showing up with tea in hand, ready to try again.

Sincerely Irene is where I share the real stuff – career changes, self-discovery, travel stories, setbacks, and small victories. It’s about starting over at 50, embracing uncertainty, and finding joy in the rebuild.

If you’re also figuring it out, you’re in the right place. Let’s do it together one brave, messy, amazing step at a time.
